Julie Speidel’s work evokes a sense of timelessness. Her work comprised of totemic, figurative, and abstract sculptures. She believes in a natural connection between physical forms and surfaces.
Her inspiration is rooted in her fascination with ancient megaliths. These interests are encouraged by her many travels to Ireland, Turkey, and China. Her sculptural works evoke the visual and cultural complexity of the forms she finds on her travels.
Speidel’s work is included in many prestigious private and public collections including the Portland Art Museum. A selection of her public commissions includes The Tacoma Art Museum and three United States Embassies.
