Stephanie Hirsch is a New York-based mixed media artist whose conceptual works explore themes of self-transformation and awareness. Stitching together words and imagery representing notions of strength, courage, humanity, and renewal. Working primarily with beads as her central medium, Hirsch transforms materials into intricate, labyrinthine compositions that serve as metaphors for consciousness, protection, and becoming.
For Hirsch, beads are not ornamental — they are seeds. Each piece reflects the belief that what we plant and nurture within the soul ultimately becomes our lived reality. Her works are visual reminders to move through the world with discernment while remaining rooted in beauty and truth.
Her practice bridges personal mythology and universal symbolism. Themes of the kingdom within, divine feminine power, and emotional armor appear repeatedly throughout her works. Through repetition and meticulous hand-placement, Hirsch creates meditative surfaces that invite both introspection and strength — a balance between vulnerability and sovereignty.
Beyond the studio, Hirsch’s work is deeply connected to transcendental meditation, philanthropy and community. She is actively engaged in leadership and charitable initiatives, including involvement with the David Lynch Foundation and her own ongoing community-focused efforts through the Hirsch Project. Her artistic philosophy extends into service: creativity as healing, structure as protection, beauty as transformation.
She has exhibited with numerous galleries and museums and is a part of several permanent collections. She is a proud mother and wife. She resides between New York City and The Hampton’s.
