Nicole Charbonnet’s work is notable for its use of texture, color and line. Working from her studio in New Orleans, Nicole has been occupied with several different series of works in the last few months. This digital exhibition presents a selection of these recent works. “Pictures of Nothing” is an entirely abstract series that focuses intently on the build up of different textures. The “Mythologies” series is in direct contrast to this with figurative works depicting characters that combine Greek mythology and art historical giants such as Caravaggio and Michelangelo. Finally, “Study for Pattern” is a series of small scale works intended as a preparation for larger series. Each of these works show her intent focus on line, creating patterns through the repetition of a line.
