Hauling is Ethan Murrow’s most ambitious project to date. This immersive installation at the Currier Museum of Art includes a wall drawing measuring more than 100 feet in length and two large-scale graphite drawings, as well as the artist’s first ever kinetic sculpture, which animates a 52-foot-long scroll drawing. Inspired by the history of labor in Manchester, New Hampshire – the Currier’s home – Hauling explores the themes of work, collaboration, and community, as well as historical and contemporary issues faced by post-industrial American cities. Released in conjecture with the exhibition, this richly illustrated publication features a conversation with the artist, who offers insights into his research and installation process.
